Clear,colorless liquid and with ammonia-like-weak odor m.p.2.55°C,b.p.210-212°C (partial decomposition beginning at 180°C),flash point 154°C , Specific gravity 1.1334(20°C). Be soluble in water and alcohol,slightly soluble in benzene and ether,etc,hygroscopic.

Uses

Formamide is the material to synthesize pharmaceuticals,spicery and dyestuffs.It is used as solvent in synthetic fiber spinning,plastic processing and lignin ink production etc,as paper treating agent,coagulation accelerator in oil well drilling and building industry,as carburant in casting industry,glue softener and as polar solvent in organic synthesis.

Packing and storage

200L plastic drums or steel-plastic composite drums. Tightly closed to prevent from leaking and touching water. Stored in cool,ventilated and dry places,far from fire and heat source.
